Limiter is a recovery app for gambling and other addictions. It counts what you have actually done and never takes it away, and what you write in it stays on your phone.
A lapse ends the current run. It does not erase the days you already had. The cumulative total only ever goes up — across resets, backdates, time zones and clock changes. That is not a promise, it is a property with a test behind it that runs on every build.
There is no sign-in, no email, no password. Your journal, lapse notes, urge notes and the financial disclosure list live only on your device and are never uploaded — not to us, not to anyone. Sync between your own devices runs through your own iCloud account, encrypted, and free.
The app links no third-party code at all — no analytics, no attribution, no crash reporter, no ad network. Purchases go through Apple’s own StoreKit. Nothing about you is measured, and there is nowhere for it to be sent.
Going for zero and going for less are both supported plans. The app will never author a dose schedule for a substance where withdrawal is dangerous — those require a clinician's plan, entered by you. That restriction is enforced by the code, not by a warning.
Gamblers Anonymous, Gam-Anon, AA, NA, Cocaine Anonymous, Marijuana Anonymous, Debtors Anonymous, Al-Anon and SMART Recovery — indexed from each fellowship's own directory and shipped inside the app. Times are converted to your zone. Keep the one you go to and it shows up on your home screen with the next sitting.
Finding a meeting needs no signal and sends nothing about you anywhere. Your location, if you turn it on, is compared against coordinates already on the phone and never leaves it.
No countdown timers, no fake discounts, no price that changes depending on who you are. The counter, logging, the journal, the meeting finder, crisis help and full data export are free forever.
If you need someone now, you do not need this app to get them.
Limiter is a tracking tool. It does not diagnose anything and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a treatment programme. Talk to a professional before you change how much you take of anything.
